SCP: Secret Laboratory is the free-to-play multiplayer horror game set in a containment facility gone very wrong. Every round throws Class-D personnel, scientists, Mobile Task Force operatives, Chaos Insurgency, and player-controlled SCPs into the same collapsing site — and chaos, alliances, and betrayal follow. It’s equal parts horror and comedy, and it thrives on community servers. Running your own SCP:SL server means you set the tone: friendly-fire rules, respawn waves, round pacing, and — through plugins — entirely custom roles, items, and events. This section covers everything from installing plugin frameworks to tuning gameplay configs. Your SCP:SL server at Wasabi Hosting is managed through the Wasabi Hosting Game Panel, which includes a live Console, File Manager, Backups, Schedules, and Startup parameter editing.

Why Run Your Own Server?

Your rules, every round

Friendly fire, respawn tickets, round restart timing, decontamination, warhead behavior — everything is configurable in plain-text configs.

Plugins change everything

Community frameworks like EXILED and Northwood’s LabAPI unlock custom roles, custom items, events, admin tools, and stat tracking.

Moderation that fits your community

Fine-grained permission groups, Remote Admin access, reserved slots, and whitelisting keep your community healthy.

A home for your group

Whether it’s a private server for friends or a public community hub, a dedicated server keeps the facility open 24/7.

Verified vs. Unverified Servers

SCP:SL servers don’t automatically appear in the in-game public server list. To be listed, a server must be verified by Northwood Studios — a short application process where you agree to their server rules and prove ownership. Once verified, your server shows up in the server browser for everyone. Unverified servers work perfectly fine too — players just join by direct IP instead of finding you in the list, which is ideal for private or community-only servers. You can apply for verification later at any time; requirements and the application process are described in Northwood’s official server documentation.

Why Host SCP:SL with Wasabi?

SCP:SL rounds are latency-sensitive — gunfights and SCP abilities feel bad on a laggy server — and modded servers with many plugins need real CPU headroom:
  • AMD Ryzen 7950X3D / 9950X CPUs — strong single-core performance keeps tick rates stable during hectic 20+ player rounds
  • DDR5 RAM and NVMe SSDs — fast restarts between rounds and quick plugin reloads
  • DDoS protection included — GCore-backed protection with 200+ Tbps capacity at no extra cost, on our own network (AS215370)
  • Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Ashburn (US East) locations for low ping in Europe and North America
  • Instant setup — your server deploys about 2 minutes after payment, and upgrades keep all your files
