What Is FiveM?

FiveM runs alongside your normal GTA V installation as a separate multiplayer client. It connects players to community-run servers instead of Rockstar’s official ones, which means:
  • It does not modify GTA: Online. FiveM keeps its own game files and does not touch your GTA:O characters, progress, or account standing.
  • Servers are fully scriptable. Server owners add custom jobs, vehicles, maps, economy systems, and game modes through Lua, JavaScript, and C# resources.
  • Players need a legal copy of GTA V (Steam, Rockstar Games Launcher, or Epic Games Store) plus the free FiveM client from fivem.net.
Every FiveM server requires a free Cfx.re license key from the Keymaster. You’ll generate one during setup — see the txAdmin Setup and server.cfg guides.
