# Minecraft Server Hosting - Getting Started Guide

## Java & Bedrock Support

Every Minecraft server at Wasabi Hosting runs **Java Edition** by default, which is the most flexible platform for plugins, mods, and custom content. If you also want **Bedrock Edition** players (Windows 10/11, mobile, and console) on your server, you can install **Geyser** — a proxy that translates Bedrock connections so both editions can play together on the same world.

## What You Can Run

Your server isn't locked to a single flavor of Minecraft. Using the built-in **Version Changer** in the Game Panel, you can switch between server software and versions in a couple of clicks:

* **Plugins** add features server-side only — players join with a normal, unmodified client. Great for permissions, economy, minigames, and protection.
